A blend of Grenache, Grenache Gris and Syrah that is fit for royalty! Winemaker Jean-Marc Lafage of Chateau St Roch and Domaine Lafage, is like a grape whisperer with these varietals. His family has been tending vines and winemaking for generations, so it was only natural for him to follow in his father's footsteps, and his winemaking remains a family affair. Jean-Marc has won all kinds of awards for his winemaking, and his expertise does not go unnoticed here. We couldn't be more excited about this rosé! This is the first time it has made it's way across the pond to North America and we were only able to secure a few cases, so we won't blame you if you don't share! Sold out at the winery, there were only 1300 bottles made! We only have a handful left in the store, so be sure to snag another before it's gone! This rosé has a bit more oomph than the French Provencal rosés, and we promise it won't disappoint! Enjoy today or cellar up to a year, and serve at 10 C.
A cheeky, shy, pale pink. Reminds us of fresh cherry blossom blooms.
Greeted by a bushel of red fruits, the playfulness is certainly present. Peppered watermelon and grilled strawberries waft out of the glass. Raspberry leaf and mild herbs are found in the background. The aromas are tart not cloying, making us excited to taste!
Like those tart aromas we found on the nose, the layers of red fruits are deep and bone dry! Grilled strawberries with cream flavours give an almost creamy texture to the palate. Bing cherries, ripe raspberries and red currants bright and fresh. The tannins are present from the Syrah, adding grip to the rounder mouthfeel. Our gums are tingly from the acidity, which also keeps the fruit in check. The weightiness of the palate is calling for a cool end of summer night.
We are craving cedar planked salmon with garden fresh green beans and a creamy dills sauce! A watermelon salad with goat cheese would also work incredibly!
