Oakridge Wines produces such a small amount of each wine, and there is very little imported into Canada. We have received such few bottles of each, that there isn't enough to feature them in our WineCollective packages. For example, we only have 60 bottles of LVS Cabernet, and it is not found in any retail or restaurant in Canada - just online!

The Local Vineyard Series from Oakridge is a line of wines dedicated to matching the perfect varietal with its terroir. They have identified which grapes excel best in three distinct sub-regions of the Yarra Valley, this Cabernet is harvested from the north facing Oakridge vineyard of Coldstream.

Single vineyard wines often command a higher price, this is because special care is taken in assuring that only the best grapes are harvested. A single vineyard wine is unique because it is a direct reflection of a very specific site, only the best single vineyards are chosen to be bottled on their own, rather than blended with other sites. A cellaring candidate for sure, rest for another 3-5 years easily, or decant and enjoy today at 18 C.

Deep eggplant coloured core with a purply-red edge.

Deep aromas that are inherently reflective of Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Cassis and currant leaf, to the violet. There is light peppery spice, aged cedar chest and soft notes of cocoa nibs.

Brambly and savoury, full of ripe black fruits - plum, black berry and cherry. The medium + body gives the backbone to silty tannins and flush acidity. The purple florals and ripe berries flow through to the finish with woodsy bitterness and hints of cocoa. The wine was fermented on skins and underwent pump-overs for three weeks, before 17 months aging in French oak barrels.

We know you probably have some decadent chocolates on hand, gifts from your co-workers or neighbours? This is a great wine to explore the sweet pairing of Cabernet. Choose rich, dark chocolates and enjoy near a toasty fire place.
