Tenute SalvaTerra is a dream realized by the two Furia brothers, who grew up learning about the land in Valpolicella from their grandfather, a vine grower. Over time, they understood the unusual ability that the land had to irrigate itself due to the marl (rock or soil consisting of clay or lime) that existed between the earth and the rock. SalvaTerra strives to create exceptional wines while complying with Integrated Management standards; a dedication to producing wine with a minimal impact on the environment and human beings. With immense respect to the earth and territory they rely on, the goal is to preserve this natural resource, as it cannot be reproduced. The Furia brothers teamed up with a group of entrepreneurs who also shared their values to produce wines that reflected their strong commitment to the land. Today, SalvaTerra is comprised of 600 hectares of vineyards throughout Veneto with the winery located in Villa Giona that dates back to the sixteenth century. Enjoy chilled to 8 C and best to be opened this summer, preferably on a patio, porch, or picnic.
Bright golden yellow coloured core almost to the rim, with hints of straw.
Ripe peaches, stone fruit, dandelion honey and honeysuckle burst out of the glass. Complemented by hints of white flowers and lemon lime citrus, this wine smells like a warm summer day spent in a garden.
We love the transition from nose to palate on this wine; the ripe peach and honey notes from the nose transform into a more complex honey drizzled on a lightly roasted peach. The light to medium body is rich and creamy, reminiscent of a tangerine creamsicle. Balanced by solid acidity levels, the citrus and tangerine notes do not come across as sweet. Overall, crisp and refreshing with a long and lingering finish of tangerine or grapefruit.
Perfect on its own out on the patio in the sun. Would also lend itself beautifully to seafood or hearty salads.
