Coda di Volpe
Alc. 12 %
One of Italy's oldest wine-growing regions, Campania dates back to the ancient Greek and Roman empires and is home to an impressive array of indigenous grape varieties, many of which are not grown anywhere else on earth. The rich volcanic soil combined with a hot Mediterranean climate make for wines of excellent character.
Cantine Faliesi is owned and operated by the Urciuolo brothers, Antonello and Ciro, in the foothills of Mt. Vesuvius around the famed town of Naples. Theirs was the first Fiano vineyard in the Avellino D.O.C. planted back in 1992. At that time, Antonello and Ciro were just 20 and 23, but they were determined to produce a wine under the family name. In 1996 their dream was realized, and the first Fratelli Urciuolo wines reached the Italian market -- and soon after they were recognized as one of the best producers in Campania by critics and publications, like Gambero Rosso and others.

Pale straw-coloured core leads into rich yellow edges, and showing soft green highlights.
Aromas of apples, peaches and pineapple float out of the glass. Lovely hints of citrus provide an extra lift, finishing off with a subtle note of shaved almonds. This reminds of us a bowl of fruit you might have on your kitchen counter in the summertime!
As soon as you take the first sip, you are greeted with warm notes of apple and a little lemony citrus. It is light and refreshing with an acidity that is similar to Sauvignon Blanc, although less intense. The nose is closely tied to the pallet, repeating notes of tropical and stone fruits like pineapple and peach that show through to the lively finish. Approachable and well balanced, this wine will have you salivating for more!
This is a versatile wine; ideal for sipping on its own but would compliment seafood dishes as well. Perfect with popcorn!
