Wines from Languedoc-Roussillon get a lot of attention and for good reason! Situated in the south of France just off of the Mediterranean Sea, the region follows the coastline from the Spanish border up to Montpellier. It’s the kind of place you can be catching some sun on a beach in the morning and skiing on top of a mountain in the afternoon — with a break in between to savour some incredible wine, of course! With so much variability, Languedoc-Roussillon is able to grow plenty of different varieties and have become renowned for their blends.

Saint-Cels vineyard is no exception when it comes to exceptional blends. Established in 1970 in the heart of the Saint-Chinan appellation of Languedoc-Roussillon, their 80-hectare property cultivates an extensive number of varieties that entice and delight every palate. The 2017 Fée Griottine is a perfect blend of Merlot (40%), Syrah (35%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%). We have a feeling you will be just as excited to share this bottle as we are!

A star-bright, deep raspberry colour with vivid scarlet reflections wrapped by a strawberry rim.


The glass is full of jammy and refreshing aromas, drawing you in with swirls of plump, black and red berry fruits that are bursting with juiciness. We even get a hint of crushed sweet tarts and a touch of wet spring blossoms. As it breathes there are notes of sweet green tobacco and menthol coming through with some spiciness of bay leaves and lemon thyme.


We love the complexity this wine has on our taste buds — so many nuances! Starting like a concentrated stewed compote of dark berries, red currant, and pomegranate. Great balanced acidity and grippy, tight tannins provide a really exciting, yet plush, mouthfeel. The juicy, fruity flavours quickly give way to an energizing and herby minerality of green pepper, eucalyptus, and menthol that lingers. Our palate was electrified by all the flavours this wine packs in!


A spicy tourtiére loaded with succulent meats, golden potatoes, sweet onion, garlic, and fiery peppercorns packed in a light, flaky crust.
