Languedoc-Roussillon is one of France's most prolific wine regions, with over 300,000 hectares dedicated to vineyards and accounting for approximately one quarter of all the wine producing vines in the country. Part of the appeal to winemakers is the classic Mediterranean climate that provides hot summers and mild winters, with cooling breezes from the sea. Certainly our idea of a great place to live! This combination allows grapes to ripen slowly and provides an ideal environment for viticulture.

Winemaking in Languedoc-Roussillon has been around as far back as Roman times. However, the railways' introduction in the 19th century was a complete game-changer that allowed for distribution on a much larger scale. The IGT designation Pays d’Hérault, located within Languedoc-Roussillon, boasts everything from mountains to coastal plains where Cabernet Sauvignon remains a popular choice among winemakers. Serve at 18 C and drink now or over the next 4-5 years.

We love the luxurious medium purple colour and the touches of garnet towards the edge. Overripe dark fruits like blackberries and plums immediately emanate from the glass like a fruit explosion. We also find a touch of graphite and an appealing earthy element.

Medium to full bodied with velvety tannins that immediately grab our attention. A more sumptuous and fruity style of Cabernet Sauvignon, with jammy dark fruit notes of blackberry, black cherry, and blueberry. We also find notes of tobacco and a notable earthy element that reminds us of a dense green forest after some rain. With a bright acidity and persistent finish, this bottle won't last long once you've poured your first glass!

We love the idea of saving this for a roasted rack of lamb with rosemary and garlic. Vegetarians could try your favourite grilled portobello mushroom recipe.
