It's not unusual to hear of a third or fourth-generation winemaker who has grown up surrounded by the culture of winemaking who then, in turn, decides to carry on this family tradition. The story behind Joseph Castan Fine Wine is driven by the same passion for wine with a brief 100-year interval between family winemakers.
Vianney Castan's great grandfather, Joseph, began producing wine at his modest winery back in 1907. For years, his wines were praised and appreciated until in 1956 when France was hit by what was referred to as a "white hell"; with record low temperatures, snow, and frost that caused irreparable damage to Castan's vineyard. It wasn't until 100 years later when Vianney and his wife Emilie, fuelled by their own dedication to viticulture, decided to rekindle the torch and establish their own winery. Today, it is their mission to share quality wines from the South of France with wine-lovers all over the world. Ready to serve now at 12 C.
