Introduction

The history of Raimat begins over 100 years ago in 1914 when Manuel Raventós purchased 3,200 hectares of desert land. Quickly capitalizing on the nearby Aragón Canal, Raventós built 1000 kilometres of ditches to bring the land back into a fertile state to implement his vision of the vast vineyard estate. Since then, Raimat has continued to establish itself as a pioneer of the winemaking industry in Spain. One such innovation was the creation of the first concrete building in Spain known as the 'Cathedral of Wine' in 1918 designed by a devout follower of the architect Gaudi. Their practices often followed the ideals of sustainable viticulture long before these certifications came into existence - let alone became popular. They officially became Certified Sustainable in 2008. Many feel that Raimat put the Costers del Segre DO on the map, providing quality wines from this region to the rest of the world. Named after the lower part of the mountain where these vines grow, Clamor does not disappoint. Serve at 18 C. Drink now up to 5 years.

How it smells

Luxurious red and black fruits of cherries, plums, and blackberries instantly draw us in as they drift from the glass. We're enamoured by the medium garnet colour with its shining ruby edges. We also find a delightful floral touch of violets intertwined with a spicy white pepper finish.

How it tastes

Black and red ripe (but not quite jammy) fruit notes of blackberries, cherries, and plum are there to greet us on the first sip. Medium to full bodied with soft and velvety tannins that coat our palates. The balanced acidity is followed by a lengthy finish that showcases a touch of chocolate. Polished and accessible, Clamor is a palate-pleaser that is sure to impress all your guests. But your secret is safe with us if you decide to keep it all to yourself!

Recommended food pairing

Saving this for a special night? Pair with a roasted lamb dish. Equally well suited to charcuterie with cured cheese and cold meats.
