St. Innocent was founded in Oregon's Willamette Valley in 1988 with the goal of carrying on old-world winemaking traditions in one of the most exciting up-and-coming regions in the US. Fast-forward over three decades, and winemaker/owner Mark Vlossak remains at the helm, still hand-making his pure expressions of Oregon Pinot Noir. Vlossak was introduced to wine at a young age by his father, who worked as an importer for 20 years and was an early member of the Society of Wine Educators. To honour his father's influence on both his palate and his eventual life's work, Mark chose his father's middle name, Innocent, for his winery.

St. Innocent is known for their single-vineyard Pinot Noir, and has been working with fruit from the Zenith Vineyard since 1989. Like all of St. Innocent's Pinot Noir, the fruit is fully de-stemmed and lightly crushed before fermentation begins naturally. Once complete, the unfined wine is racked to mostly old barrels to age up to fifteen months.

Enjoy this complex, age-worthy Pinot at about 16 C over the next decade.

We would recommend decanting this wine for about an hour to let the aromatics truly shine! You'll be rewarded with scents of raspberries, red currants, and cherries, along with complex savoury notes of fresh herbs, dried rose petals, and a hint of allspice and cinnamon.

A burst of red fruit on the palate, with loads of cherry, fresh raspberries, and currants. It's ripe and intensely flavoured, with fine, developed tannins and beautifully balanced acidity. With some more time in the glass, more subtle notes of baking spice, smoke, and loamy earth begin to emerge.

Food pairing has always been an important part of the St. Innocent philosophy, so try matching this with grilled pork, or a couscous salad with grilled veggies
