Steven Campbell is taking sustainable wine to new heights. His most recent project is Campbell Kind Wines, an international brand created through partnerships with some of the best winemakers from around the world who share a commitment to environmental winemaking. The 'CKW project' currently includes eight certified Carbon Neutral wines from six countries. He made some key partnerships in this endeavour, one of these being with Bruce Jack. Bruce is a legend in South Africa. He started his wine career by doing vineyard and cellar work all over the world, throughout France, Spain, Australia, and the USA. While toiling away as a cellar-hand in France, he soon knew he had to become a winemaker. Extraordinarily fired up, he returned home to South Africa in 1998 and simultaneously started a winery, a wine business, and a family! Bruce Jack is an environmental pioneer, believing in ocean revitalization, environmental rejuvenation, and social upliftment through education. And he supports all of these initiatives on a global scale key partners. An absolutely stunning value, this Western Cape (vegan!) charmer delivers a beautiful, complex wine. This wine should be served at 18 C. Cellar from now to 2024.

How it looks

How it smells

This boldly scented wine shows an abundance of dark red fruit, date, fig, some earthy notes, and a hint of black pepper. There are also subtle, pleasant meaty types of aromas coming through as well as some liquorice and crushed gravel. The bouquet is powerful and bold.

How it tastes

This full-bodied, dry red is vivid with dark red fruit, blackberries, herbs, and pepper. It is also showing some lovely cured meat flavours, a bit of liquorice, and some subtle cinnamon. It is displaying fine tannins, spicy fruit, a touch of prickly heat, and a chewy finish. For a bold wine, it is surprisingly well balanced, and possesses nice elegance and restraint.

Recommended food pairing

Match this full-flavoured red with a charcoal-grilled striploin steak, lasagna, burger, or a warm salad of roasted eggplant and zucchini. This may also be the new favourite for your next charcuterie board!
