Over five centuries, Argentina has developed a strong winemaking reputation. The altitude, continental climate, diversity of the terroir, dry weather, and purity of the water melting from the Andes make the wines have unique characteristics and quality.

The Miradores is a terroir-driven, single vineyard wine from the ever-consistent Luigi Bosca Estate. The Los Miradores vineyard sits at 1,150 metres above sea level in the Tunuyán sub region of the Uco Valley area of Mendoza. The vines here are now just over 10 years old and are farmed biodynamically. The grapes are handpicked, destemmed, and carefully selected before fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, part of the wine remains in stainless, while the remainder is aged in new French oak barrels for a year before a final blending and further ageing in bottle for 6 months. The cool climate keeps a balance of good acidity and ripe fruit.

This wine should be served at 18 C. Cellar from now to 2028.

The nose on this wine consists of some serious black and blue fruit, namely: blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, and ripe plum. Other aromas include mulberry, cherry cough drop, dried herbs, espresso, and some leafy, violet notes.

This wine is voluptuous and juicy, with lively tannins and great grip, bursting with ripe berries, dark fruit, and dried fig. There are also flavours of dark chocolate, espresso, and cedar, with a lovely floral finish. This is a modern red wine with great personality and it will likely gain even more complexity with a bit more time in the bottle, if you have the patience.

This wine would be a great match with charcuterie, red beet risotto, a rack of lamb with a chili rub, and grilled vegetables (think eggplant).
