Smell
Bursting with aromas of orchard fruit like apple, peach, and pear, this white is fresh and appealing. There's a hint of tropical fruit as well, with some pineapple and mango, along with a flinty minerality and a touch of white flower.
Taste
Medium-bodied and dry, with a bit of weight that is perfectly offset by refreshing acidity. The flavours echo the aromas, with golden apple, apricot, and pear, along with some melon rind and orange peel. With a bright, mouth-watering finish, this wine is ideal for sunny summer days.
Pairing
Pinot Bianco works great with vegetable dishes: try this example with sheet-pan gnocchi with blistered cherry tomatoes, peppers, and onions.

Description
Friuli, in Northeastern Italy, is home to some of the country's most exciting white wines, like this fresh, balanced, Pinot Bianco from Villa Locatelli. The family's connection to the estate stretch back to its founding in 1649, and continues uninterrupted to this day. The emphasis on the historical importance of the estate is strong, and the family see themselves as stewards of the land, so grape growing is done using certified sustainable practices that protect the future health of the vineyards.
Pinot Bianco (Pinot Blanc in its native France) is lesser known than Pinot Grigio, but Villa Locatelli place special emphasis on this finicky grape. In their clay and gravel based soils in DOC Isonzo del Friuli, its full potential is expressed, resulting in a beautifully balanced, aromatic white, perfect for summer sipping!
