This Cabernet has rich and driven aromas of ripe blackberry, dark plum, and blueberry compote. There is an ever-present hint of eucalyptus and mint, which makes this wine a pleasure to inhale from the glass.


This is a rich, bold example of Cabernet Sauvignon’s potential in warm Castilla Y León. If you love new-world Cabs, you’ll love this gem! This wine is fuller-bodied, and has medium acidity. The tannins are dusty and soft, while the palate shows off ripe red and black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, and black plum. The eucalyptus and mint from the nose make an appearance here as well. The finish lingers making this is a very nicely balanced and enjoyable wine.


This Cab would pair well with seared lamb chops or a grilled portobello mushroom ‘burger’ with roasted red peppers and gruyère cheese.

Aromas and Flavours

Black Currant

Sometimes also referred to as 'cassis', this black fruit tasting note is common in red wines.


A little sweet, a little tart, this black fruit is rather quiet but persistent.


Eating handfuls of berries straight from the bush, your fingers stained purple for days to come.


Spreading grandma's homemade jam on your morning toast (yes, the bread was homemade too).


A touch of sweet and cooling herbal flavours, think gum, but without the intense menthol

Rural and remote, Bierzo is a small, historic wine region in the northwest of Castilla y Leon in Spain, close to the borders, with Galicia to the west and Asturias to the north. It is situated on the path of the El Camino de Santiago (St. James’ Way), the most famous of Christian pilgrimages, dating back to Roman times. This former Roman mining area is set in hilly, castle-studded panoramas. It was actually monks who cultivated and grew Bierzo’s vineyards when they settled there in the ninth century. The Monasterio de Santa María de Carracedo, a 10th century monastery, remains standing there to this day and the vineyards in the region are some of the most beautiful in all of Spain.

The region was awarded its DO status in 1989 and the region’s popularity has grown dramatically ever since. Some believe it is Spain’s most exciting wine region, producing wines that have an undeniable style.

This Cabernet Sauvignon should be served at 18 C, from now until 2027.
