Smell
Just like opening fresh bag of Nibs! Loads of cherry candy and raspberry aromas on first blush, with undertones of blackberry preserve, fresh pepper and dried herbs. There's a great balance of earthy characteristics of bramble, raspberry leaf and sweet oak.
Taste
Mixed berries lead the charge on the palate, with raspberry, ripe blackberry, and black currant notes. It's plush and soft on the palate, with rounded, sandy tannins and bright balanced acidity. The finish lingers with hints of white pepper and tea. Light enough to take a slight chill for an extra refreshing sip!
Pairing
Try this medium-bodied red with a black bean burrito, or BBQ staples like a classic cheeseburger or grilled chicken sandwich.

Raspberry
Tangy or sweet, juicy or tart: more sophisticated than a strawberry, but just as lush.
Cherry
Fresh B.C. cherries out of the back of a truck, all eaten before you can get them home!
Black Currant
Sometimes also referred to as 'cassis', this black fruit tasting note is common in red wines.

Description
Capucine is back! The white and red from historic Ollieux Romanis were featured way back in 2019 as WineCollective exclusives, and they were such a hit that we jumped at the opportunity to offer the new vintages. These wines are fun and cheerful, and we encourage you to stock-up, because if these are as popular as the last vintage, they won't last long!
Produced by Ollieux Romanis, which is a name that might be familiar to long-time member, the property is located just south of Corbières. Part of the larger Languedoc-Roussillon wine region, you will see more red wine production here than other styles, with an emphasis Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre: the star grapes of the south of France. The varying altitude and climate of this vast area allows for a range of styles and quality to be produced, from the coastal plains to the base of the Pyrenean foothills. Enjoy at about 16 C over the next 2-3 years.
