Smell
Crunchy red-fruit aromas of field strawberry, red currant, and raspberries dominate, but there's hints of blueberry, mixed-berry compote and even some cherry jam. If it's a berry, chances are you'll find it on the exuberant nose of this red! Behind all the fresh fruit is a hint of dried herb and earth.
Taste
Like the nose, the palate is almost entirely about red fruit - fresh raspberry, cherry, and strawberry flavours vie for attention in this soft, medium-bodied wine. The finish is fresh and lifted, with a pop of acidity that makes it bright and refreshing. This is a perfect red to chill slightly before enjoying.
Pairing
Pretend it's summer, and try this bright, fruit-driven red with slow-smoked pork ribs in sweet and spicy BBQ sauce, or match with a grilled vegetable quesadilla.

Description
Located in the small, picturesque Languedoc village of Montpeyroux, CastelBarry is a cooperative cellar that was founded in 1950. When the original 75 growers came together to form the cellar, the five jobs that were created at the co-op made the winery the town's largest employer! Since then, the values of sustainable agriculture and the focus on high-quality wine has remained unchanged, and the winery pays tribute to these values with Les Coopains: a range of wines that highlight the region's star grape varieties. A play on "copain," which means friend or buddy, and a nod to the cooperative structure of the winery, Les Coopains Rouge is made from 100% Grenache (known as Garnacha in its Spanish homeland). The grapes undergo a process called carbonic maceration, made popular in Beaujolais, to preserve fresh fruit aromas, and the finished wine is aged entirely in stainless steel.
Enjoy this juicy red at about 16 C over the next few years.
