Ripe red fruit dominates the appealing nose of this deep crimson wine, with aromas of fresh cherry, field strawberry, and raspberry. Subtle black plum is joined by a hint of chocolate, warm baking spice, fresh-cracked black pepper, and savoury herbs.
Full bodied and glossy on the palate, with plenty more ripe red fruit. A persistent, mouth-watering acidity frames the long finish, and the tannins are soft and well integrated. This is a complex, elegant expression of Syrah that will age gracefully but is drinking beautifully now.
Match this full-bodied red with pepper-crusted beef tenderloin, or try with umami-rich sides like soy-glazed shiitake mushrooms.
Fresh B.C. cherries out of the back of a truck, all eaten before you can get them home!
A sweet, almost caramel-like aroma reminiscent of your favourite juicy, red berry.
A whiff of a freshly used pepper grinder - spicy and fresh, without the itchy nose.
Your windowsill herb garden gives off a lovely herbal smell every time you walk by.
From milk to dark chocolate, this aroma is irresistible, just like that bar hidden in your drawer.

Syrah, made famous in the Rhone and throughout Australia, has a surprisingly suitable home in one of the world's most historic grape-growing regions: Portugal's Douro valley. Ample sunshine and hot days are perfect for making concentrated, expressive wines like this Syrah Superior from world-renowned Quinta do Crasto. The earliest records of this property date back to 1615, but it's modern story begins in the early 1900s, when Constantino de Almeida purchased the winery. Now under the stewardship of Constantino's granddaughter Leonor and her family, the winery continues to produce outstanding port and a range of dry wines.
This Syrah takes its name from the vineyard's location in the Douro Superior, or Upper Douro. Embracing a historic practice from the northern Rhone, Quinta do Crasto grows a small amount of Viognier alongside the Syrah, and co-ferments the two grapes. Viognier's influence helps to both add a different aromatic element to the wine, but also to stabilize colour. Aging in French oak for about 16 months creates a seamless, integrate wine with great finesse. Enjoy over the next 5-7 years, and serve at about 18 C.
