Smell
Cabernet Sauvignon has inviting aromas of sandalwood, dried rose petals, baked apple, cinnamon, ginger snap cookies fresh out of the oven and fresh autumn leaves. This is a wine you will want to sit around a fire and warm up with on a cold day.
Taste
Full-bodied and rich with plenty of ripe fruit to offer on the palate. This Cabernet leads with fresh dark cherries, blackberries and plum with a slightly floral dark violet note which eclipses into rich dark chocolate, fig and sweet tobacco notes. You will be rewarded with well-integrated oak and a very long, well-textured finish with beautiful hints of blueberry, cedar, vanilla and baking spices. Sure to please anyone with a love for a Cabernet.
Pairing
Pairs harmoniously with grilled steak, roast rack of lamb, or a grilled burger, elk or venison steak, yet delicate enough to pair with a pulled pork sandwich, duck confit or shepherd’s pie.

Description
Boschkloof was purchased in 1995 and named after the natural ravine (or “Kloof”) on the farm. Veteran winemaker Jacques Borman and his son Reenen chose a quote from Joseph B. Wirthlin for their back label that reads: "Perfection is worth striving for, even if it is ultimately unattainable in this life,'' as they believe this exemplifies the hard work they put into crafting the perfect bottle of wine. We are equally excited about the level of quality and craftsmanship in this near-perfect example of South African Cabernet Sauvignon that is sure to delight your palate.
Interestingly, 95% of South African wines are sustainably farmed. Boschkloof winery is proud to be one of them and continues to do its part to protect the environment. It means this is a wine you can feel good about drinking! Boschkloof is also one of the first wineries in South Africa to score 98 points by an internationally-acclaimed wine critic. Beautifully crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from 35-year-old vines, this wine drinks like a top-tier left bank Bordeaux. After harvesting by hand this rich wine is aged for 20 months in top-quality French oak. Enjoy or in the next 3 years at a temperature of 18 ºC.
