Enticing aromas of red and black cherry, tart raspberry, and under-ripe strawberry make up the fruit component of this wine, but there's a healthy dose of Nebbiolo's signature floral aromatics and a distinctive hint of tar, minerality, and new leather. With some time in the glass, the complex aromatics mellow into a cohesive whole.
Barrel and bottle aging have softened this Barolo's tannins, but there's still plenty of structure here for further aging. Concentrated flavours of cherry, raspberry, crushed violet and rose petals, and wet stone lead to a long, pure finish with a bright core of acidity. Worth decanting in the short term, but capable of aging, this Barolo will provide plenty of enjoyment for the next 5-7 years.
Hearty Piemontese staples like Brasato al Barolo, served with roasted root vegetables, would be a perfect match for this bold red.
Fresh B.C. cherries out of the back of a truck, all eaten before you can get them home!
Tangy or sweet, juicy or tart: more sophisticated than a strawberry, but just as lush.
'A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.' We should all stop and smell them more often...
Ever gotten into a car with leather seats, or taken a big whiff of your dad's leather jacket?
Your windowsill herb garden gives off a lovely herbal smell every time you walk by.

Luca Bosio vineyards was established in the heart of Piedmont by Egidio and Angela Bosio, and is now run by second-generation Valter and Rosella along with their son Luca, after whom the winery is named. With vineyard holdings scattered among the villages of San Stefano Belbo, Castiglione Tinella, Mango, Costigliole d'Asti, and Castagnole Lanze, Luca Bosio produces outstanding Barolo, Barbaresco, and Nebbiolo d'Alba, along with a full range of the region's other signature reds and whites. Their Barolo vineyards are located in Verduno, at the northern edge of the appelation. Rather than expressing the particular characteristics of single vineyards, Luca seeks to capture an overarching style from a blend of their vineyards.
After careful harvesting by hand, grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel before being aged for 3 years in French oak barrels. The final wine is a harmonious example of Barolo that can be enjoyed over the next 5-7 years. Decant before serving at about 18 C.
