The love affair with Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon continues with a brand-new WineCollective exclusive: Triuno! The winery is the project of pioneering viticulturist Alejandro Sejanovich, who earned early acclaim working his way up to the role of vineyard director at famed Catena Zapata. He and fellow Zapata alumnus Jeff Mausbach launched their first independent project, called Manos Negras, in 2010. Since then there's been no looking back, and Sejanovich has turned his considerable energy and expertise to winemaking projects throughout Argentina.
Triuno is one such new project, named in tribute to the trio of influences on grape growing: earth, sun and water. The fruit for this Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a vineyard located in the high-altitude Agrelo district of Luján de Cuyo, at about 3,200' above sea level. Warm days and cool nights allow fruit to ripen slowly, retaining natural acidity while developing full, complex flavours. The finished wine spends 6 months in used French oak barrels before being bottled for release. Enjoy this full-bodied red at about 18 C over the next 2-3 years.
