Layered and complex on the nose, with aromas of green and golden apple, lemon, ripe peach, and papaya. There's a hint of vanilla and toast from careful oak aging, along with a chalky mineral note and some dried herbs.
Fuller-bodied and loaded with juicy fruit flavours, this is a balanced, expressive example of classic Burgundian Chardonnay. The oak is integrated and restrained, and the long, pure finish is lifted by beautiful acidity. We'd encourage you to take your time enjoying this, as a bit of time in the glass allows all the nuances to shine.
Match the weight and texture of this wine with a classic bouillabaisse served with warm, crusty French bread, or pair with roast poultry.
From Granny Smith to Red Delicious, apple makes for a delightfully crisp aroma.
Fuzzy peach candies, or real-life fuzzy peaches fresh from a fresh B.C fruit stand.
Common in cool climate white wines, this aroma can range from fresh citrus to lemon zest.
A sweet spice aroma that indicates oak-ageing - think vanilla bean frappuccino!
Remember playing with pebbles as a child and giving them a lick out of curiosity?

The Masse family has a winemaking history in Burgundy that stretches back to 1595. Current owner Fabrice took the reins of the family estate in 2000, and farms 15 hectares in the Côte Chalonnaise. This subregion of Burgundy is nestled between the Côte d'Or to the north and the Mâconnais to the south, and though it boasts no Grand Cru vineyards, its five distinctive communes produce excellent examples of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay and Aligoté. With prices in most of Burgundy's more famous subregions skyrocketing, it's become a poorly-kept secret among wine lovers that the Côte Chalonnaise offers some of Burgundy's best value for money.
Fabrice has a consistent philosophy for his wines, harvesting by hand and performing an extensive manual selection. Full destemming precedes a gentle press and fermentation in barrel, with extensive lees contact to develop texture and stability. Oak influence is balanced and restrained, allowing the quality of the fruit to shine. While it's drinking beautifully now, this Chardonnay will continue to evolve for a further 5 years. Serve at 12 °C.
