Villa Minelli Rosso is an exceptionally special wine and we are thrilled to bring WineCollective members this ultra-exclusive! A serendipitous encounter while on European travels, WineCollective CEO tasted the Rosso from Villa Minelli. With show-stopping value, we wasted no time and ordered all remaining inventory for WineCollective. This wine is not available anywhere else in North America. Villa Minelli is owned by the Benetton family, best known for their clothing brand. The home of Benetton in Veneto, is also the home of Villa Minelli. Luciano Benetton established the winery in 2006, yet the Benetton family had owned the vineyards for the last 60 years prior. There is more to this great story, visit the blog to learn more about the producer and wine! Enjoy over the next 2-3 years and serve just below room temperature at 17 degrees Celsius. Eyes: Medium ruby core with cherry rim. Nose: Romantic, with floral perfumes of violet. There is a white pepper spice, dried herbacious-ness and fennel seed. The dominant fruits are soft and lush blueberry and raspberries. Mouth: The layers are not lost in translation from the nose, the fruit and spice are more bold, darker and rich. The spice carries through to the finish and there is more earth and sage found, rather than floral. The acidity is potent and mouth-watering and tannins, ripe and sticky. The staying power of flavours is impressive. Food Pairing: Versatile with food, from classic spaghetti and veal meatballs, to Moroccan lamb.
