Profile

Description

This property has joined a co-op company, Les Vignerons Reunis De Monsegur, which has a total of over 90 members that make wine together in the heart of Bordeaux. This cooperative winery has been in existence since 1935. This chateau is being run by the Jousseaume family, three generations of winemakers and grape growers. What is interesting to note about this co-operative, is that they also practice polyculture which supports the microclimates of their vineyards and also encourages diversity as well as brings in alternate sources of income to support the growth of the wineries. This Bordeaux blend has been vinified in stainless steel tanks and aged in historic concrete vats. The vines have an average age of 25 years and older.

Pairing

Potato gratin, barley risotto with wild mushrooms and truffles. Garlicky green beans. Grilled duck breast.

Aromas and Flavours

Black currant

Sometimes also referred to as 'cassis', this black fruit tasting note is common in red wines.

Bell pepper

Fresh green, herbaceous notes in wine - a little is desired, a lot, not so much.

Chocolate

From milk to dark chocolate, this aroma is irresistible, just like that bar hidden in your drawer.

Leather

Ever gotten into a car with leather seats, or taken a big whiff of your dad's leather jacket?

Spice

Warm, sensuous, exotic, fragrant, aromatic-like the first whiff of clove.
