Description
Ask any wine lover about Pinot Noir, and they'll likely bemoan the fact that it's so hard to find great examples at reasonable prices. Well, we love a challenge at WineCollective, and this time our efforts were well rewarded with the discovery of Domaine Coudoulet. Family-owned since 1840, the estate is located in Minervois, in the heart of the Languedoc in southern France. Here, slightly cooler conditions allow for balanced ripening of more delicate grapes like Pinot Noir. Brothers Pierre-André and Jean-Yves, along with their sons Guillaume and Camille, represent the 7th and 8th generations of the Ournac family to work as guardians of this special terroir. Their Pinot Noir is a textbook expression of the grape, and can be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years at a cool 14 C.
