Profile

Description

The Harrington family moved to Washington in 2005 to make specific wines that are a representation of old-world-meets-new-world using Bordeaux and Rhone Varietals. Greg fell in love with Washington wines after working as a Sommelier with some of the best cellar programs in New York City. The youngest person in the USA to achieve his Master Sommelier designation, Greg wanted to bridge that balance between food and wine. To create wines that are intense, yet restrained, elegant, and earthy. Gramercy is composed of three vineyard estates and they control several others to ensure the quality of the fruit that they use for their wines. The Lower East Series focuses on single varietals that showcase the best Cabernet from Walla Walla from four of their favourite vineyard sites. 90% Cabernet with 9% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. This wine was aged for 28 months in new oak French barrels.

Pairing

This wine pairs perfectly with BBQ ribs, roasted vegetable pizza, and red wine beef stew.

Aromas and Flavours

Strawberry

A sweet, almost caramel-like aroma reminiscent of your favourite juicy, red berry.

Cherry

Fresh B.C. cherries out of the back of a truck, all eaten before you can get them home!

Chocolate

From milk to dark chocolate, this aroma is irresistible, just like that bar hidden in your drawer.

Herbs

Your windowsill herb garden gives off a lovely herbal smell every time you walk by.

Bramble

Juicy dark berries picked straight from the bush, with a subtle hint of leaf and earthiness.
