Description
Emilia-Romagna produces some of the best under-the-radar Sangiovese in Italy. Often produced in a very juicy yet dense fruit-forward version best paired with the local hearty fare in the region. Fruit-driven and dry, this wine has crisp acidity, nuances of anise, black olives, dried herbs, and smells like you just stepped into a vegetable garden. Gruppo Caviro, the company responsible for many brands around Italy, including this winery, has earned over 3 European Sustainable designations for their viticultural standards. Everything they do centers around their commitment to the environment including using aluminum screwcaps (recyclable everywhere), using FSC for packaging, labels, etc, and also choosing lighter glass bottles to reduce weight in transport which reduces CO2 emissions. Gruppo Caviro is an Agricultural Cooperative founded in Faenza in 1966 and has over 26 members in its company.
