Profile

Description

This property has a history dating back to 1936, the Lagrange family has always been the sole proprietor. The lands were planted with cereal grains up until two generations later when the Jousseaume family took over the property and began planting grapes instead. To this day, the Jousseaume family still grows the grapes and it is the third generation that makes the wine with Yannick Jousseaume at the helm. He is also in charge of the AOC Bordeaux property. "Entre-Deux-Mers" literally translates to "Between two seas" as this AOC rests between the rivers Garonne and Dordogne in the Bordeaux region. Interestingly, the term "Entre-Deux-Mers" is used only for the whites produced, the reds fall under "Bordeaux AOC". Annual production of this wine is limited. Only 16,000 bottles are produced. A blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillon. The grapes are grown on classic limestone and clay soils which impart steely mineral-driven characteristics. The wine only sees stainless steel fermentation which imparts a freshness to the wines. Made for early consumption.

Pairing

Bordeaux whites pair with asparagus, green salads, goat cheese crostinis, and lemony chicken.
