Profile

Smell

Hugely exciting fruit-forward aromas explode from the glass. A seriously juicy nose packed full of crunchy and ripe, red and black fruit like cherries, cranberries, blackberries, currants and plums. It opens up with notes of pepper, spice, green stems and faint floral aromas.

Taste

The big, beautiful berries that got us excited at first smell, carry through onto the palate. A real velvety mouthfeel gushes with those perfectly ripe fruits. We love the way it unfolds in your mouth with notes of tobacco, pencil shavings, roasted coffee beans or even leather from the toasted oak. It's well balanced with medium acidity, lovely fine tannins and a little kick of heat from the alcohol. One of those wines that everyone can fall for.

Pairing

Go big and bold, either barbecue loaded with sauce over open flames or a gamey charcuterie board with strong cheeses and chutneys!

Sight

A delightful, velvety and full-bodied ruby-red wine surrounded by a brilliant raspberry rim.

Aromas and Flavours

Tobacco

The smell of a freshly rolled cigar, slightly sweet, and earthy - just like Grandpa's hugs.

Coffee

Inhale deeply as your favourite morning aroma returns in your evening drink of choice.

Cherry

Fresh B.C. cherries out of the back of a truck, all eaten before you can get them home!

Blackberry

A little sweet, a little tart, this black fruit is rather quiet but persistent.

Black currant

Sometimes also referred to as 'cassis', this black fruit tasting note is common in red wines.

Description

This Cabernet was crafted in Paso Robles, California. A stunning region, it has its western boundary just six miles from the Pacific Ocean. On the east, its border is made by the Santa Lucia coastal mountains. The terroir here has a uniquely high predominance of calcareous soils found throughout the region. These features combine to provide optimal growing conditions for extraordinary wines. Barrel Burrer has taken their extraordinary wine and fused the alluring notes of toasted oak. For centuries, winemakers have delighted in the unique spiced flavours imparted in their wines by fire charring oak barrels. Through the type of oak barrel and the level of charring completed by the Cooper, winemakers are able to express heightened flavours, texture, and aromatics in their finished wines. This Cabernet is ready to be savoured right away, honestly, we don't think we could keep our hands off it if we tried to cellar it. Enjoy at room temperature, 18 C.
