With focus and attention put on finding the best grapes from the most prestige cool climate vineyards in California, Gearbox strives to make wines that mimic the style of Burgundy. Much like the négociants of France where winemakers combine finding grapes from the best vineyard sites and use their skill to craft the perfect bottle of wine at an affordable price, Gearbox offers the same value and quality giving you elegance with affordability. With most of the grapes being sourced from Los Carneros, a region that straddles both Napa and Sonoma giving you the best of both worlds in terms of quality and finesse. Early 20th century motorcycles had gearboxes that were often referred to as a "jockey shifter". Riders had to take their hand off the handlebar in a risky maneuver to switch gears. This was a unique technique that required skill and is reminiscent of the way these wines are made. The winemaker uses unique techniques combined with skill to craft the perfect wine. Enjoy now or in 5 years from now at a temperature of 9 ºC.

Pairs best with crab cakes, lobster bisque, butter chicken, coconut Thai curry dishes, vegetable samosas and aged cheddar or Gruyère cheeses.
