Description
The roots of this winery were sown in the early 20th century, when Don Pedro Pavone Voglino, an Italian immigrant and businessman discovered the possibilities of creating great wines from the lands of Isla de Maipo, in Chile. Alongside his fifth son, Felix, who was also an entrepreneur, began the Vinos Santa Ema company in 1956. They equipped their winery with state-of-the-art equipment and a modern industrial infrastructure to achieve their dream of creating high-quality wines. Chile was largely undiscovered back then, a country that was capable of producing world-class wines for export but didn't. Through dedication and perseverance, Santa Ema exports to more than 30 countries worldwide and is led by the third and fourth generations of the family. Santa Ema is considered a leader in producing quality wines with a strong commitment to sustainability, and respect for the people, the community, and the environment. Santa Ema has three very distinctive vineyard sites. Cerro Blanco which is located in Maipo Alto, so named after the limestone present in the soils. El Peral, which is located on the banks Maipo River is suitable for both red and white grape production. Leyda, which is located along the coast is influenced heavily by the coastal climate. The grapes produced here are rich in mineral notes and are extremely aromatic. This Cabernet was aged for 6 months in French and American oak. Smooth and supple with an intense ruby core. Delicate aromas of black and red fruit-plum, blackberry, and raspberry with hints of toast, sweet cigar, and spices. Full-bodied and rich with a balanced acidity and fine tannins.
